Please click here to access the Reading Buses website where full details of school transport can be found, including information on bus passes, timetables and maps.

Pupils who live in Oxfordshire

If you live over 3 miles away from the school by road, but are in the Chiltern Edge School catchment area, transport may be provided free of charge for your child by Oxfordshire County Council.

If you live less than 3 miles away from the school, but are in the Chiltern Edge School catchment area, transport may be provided if there is space on the buses. However, parents will have to pay Oxfordshire County Council for the service.

Pupils who live in the RG4 Postcode area

New entrants to the school who live in the RG4 postcode area will have their school transport paid for by Reading Borough Council.

This can be either using the school bus or the Reading Bus service Number 25 which drops off and picks up from Chiltern Edge School.

Pupils who live outside catchment

If you live at an address that is not within Chiltern Edge School catchment area, eg in Reading, south of the River Thames, you can choose to send your child to our school. However, the responsibility to make transport arrangements rests with parents.

Some of your transport options are:
  • Bring your child to school yourself or as part of a lift share.
  • Purchase a place on the school bus service from Reading Buses.
  • There is a public bus service, the number 25, which runs from Reading through Caversham to Sonning Common and stops at the School.

If you need to contact Reading Buses for further information, they may be contacted on 0118 959 4000.
