Message from the Headteacher

Welcome to the Chiltern Edge School website. I hope that you will find it informative whether you are a current parent looking at possible schools for your children, or considering applying for a post at the school.

I am very proud to be the Headteacher of such a vibrant and friendly learning community. Since being appointed in 2009 I have worked hard with our staff and Governors to build on the established strengths of the school.

The Ofsted visit of September 2012 was a very positive affirmation of the changes we had made over the previous three years. Chiltern Edge is now securely a ‘Good’ school with a very clear collective vision of where we are going. The inspectors were extremely impressed by the ‘happy and harmonious’ atmosphere in the school.

One of the strengths of a small school is that we know and care for every pupil very well. Each young person has the opportunity to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities, including full scale musical productions, a wide range of sports fixtures and our large Duke of Edinburgh programme. We encourage them to shine whatever their talent or passion.

Chiltern Edge students excel on a wide range of fronts. From those who achieved a string of A* and A grades at GCSE to our national award winning Amnesty International group they show that there is no limit to what they can achieve in the school. Our strong links with former students through the Future First network are continually developing and current pupils can look to the many highly successful careers of our alumni when setting their own ambitions.

Our Open Evening and Open Mornings in the autumn do provide excellent opportunities to see the school at work. However, if you would like a personal tour please let us know. I always try to conduct tours myself as I recognise how keen people are to meet and gain a measure of the Headteacher.

Thank you for your interest in our school
