The Humanities Department includes History, Geography, Religious Education (in Key Stage 3) and Philosophy & Ethics (in Key Stage 4). We believe in creating courses and an ethos which stimulate pupils to think about people both in the present and in the past.

We run various exciting activities from brass rubbing for our Year 7s to a residential course in Yenworthy for our Year 10 GCSE students. The Humanities Area is the centre of our Department and is used for many activities, including a mock Polling Station and our Year 11 mock wedding, and serves as an excellent area to display pupil work. This area also contains our poignant memorial to Cyrus Thatcher, an ex-pupil who died in Afghanistan in 2006, aged just 19.
