Emma Holmes is the school counsellor and offers students time and space to talk through any difficulties they may have.
Sometimes it is difficult to talk to parents, friends or teachers about things that are making us anxious or upsetting us.
A counsellor is someone who you can talk to in a different way, someone who will listen to you very carefully and who will not judge you or tell you what to do.
Counselling is about helping you to work things out for yourself, making decisions and choices and helping to change things.
Some of the things people talk about are- family break up, anger, bullying, self esteem, bereavement, friendships, things at school, feeling low.
The counselling is confidential and parental consent is not needed, the counsellor will not discuss what has been said in a session unless she has reason to be concerned about the young person’s safety.
Referrals can be made by a parent, the student or their head of house. If you would like any more information please contact me firstname.lastname@example.org
